International trade of goods of the Republic of Moldova in April 20261
Exports of goods in April 2026 were amounted to 269.6 million EUR, with 9.6% less than in March 2026 and with 13.5% more compared to April 2025.
Exports of goods in January-April 2026, amounted to 1118.1 million EUR, which is 10.9% more than in the corresponding period of 2025.
Exports of domestic goods in January-April 2026 amounted to 902.8 million EUR (80.7% of total exports), with 14.4% more than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the increase of the total value of exports with 11.2%.
Reexports of foreign goods in January-April 2026 amounted to 215.3 million EUR (19.3% of total exports), or 1.4% less than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the decrease of the total value of exports with 0.3%.
Exports of goods to the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-April 2026 totaled 698.6 million EUR (12.1% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), accounting 62.5% of total exports, with 0.6 percentage points more than in January-April 2025.
Exports of goods to CIS2 countries in January-April 2026 amounted to 67.7 million EUR (with 4.5% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 6.0% in total exports, less with 0.4 percentage points compared to January-April 2025.
Imports of goods in April 2026 amounted to 912.1 million EUR, with 2.2% less compared to March 2026 and with 19.1% more compared to April 2025.
Imports of goods in January-April 2026, totaled EUR 3365.2 million, which is 5.7% more than in the corresponding period of 2025.
Imports of goods from the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-April 2026 amounted to 1886.0 million EUR (with 7.3% more compared to corresponding period of 2025), accounting for 56.0% of total imports, more with 0.8 percentage points compared to January-April 2025.
Imports of goods from CIS2 countries in January-April 2026 amounted to 103.3 million EUR (with 4.5% less than in the same period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 3.1% in total imports, less with 0.3 percentage points compared to January-April 2025.
The trade balance deficit in April 2026 was 642.5 million EUR, which is 8.1 million EUR (+1.3%) more than in March 2026, and with 114.4 million EUR (+21.7%) more compared to April 2025.
The considerable gap between exports and imports of goods led to the accumulation of a trade balance deficit amounting to 2247.1 million EUR in January-April 2026, which is 70.8 million EUR (+3.3%) more than the level recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
In January-April 2026, the trade balance with the European Union (EU-27) recorded a deficit of 1187.4 million EUR, and with CIS countries – 35.6 million EUR, which is 52.9 million EUR (+4.7%) more, respectively with 7.9 million EUR (-17.9%) less, compared to the values recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
