National Bureau of Statistics informs that in the second quarter of 2023:

• the average gross monthly earnings in the real sector units with 4 or more employees and all budgetary institutions amounted to 12175,9 lei, increasing by 17,3% compared to the second quarter of 2022 and by 6,0% compared to the first quarter of 2023
• the index of real earnings compared to the second quarter of 2022 (calculated as the ratio of the index of gross nominal earnings and the consumer price index) was 101.3%; thus, earnings increased in real terms by 1,3%. Real earnings growth is marked for the first time in the last 7 quarters (from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the previous quarter, the consumer price index exceeded the gross nominal earnings index).
• the average number of employees in the second quarter of 2023, compared to the second quarter of 2022, was approximately at the same level.
