The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the publication of the statistical press releases Gross Domestic Product in the 2nd quarter of 2025 and Labour Force, Employment and Unemployment in the 2nd quarter of 2025 is rescheduled to 30 September 2025.
The rescheduling of the publication of the press release Labour Force, Employment and Unemployment in the 2nd quarter of 2025 is determined by the implementation of the new multifunctional master sample for social surveys (EMDOS 3), developed based on the final results of the 2024 Population and Housing Census. EMDOS 3 represents an updated sampling frame for conducting the Labour Force Survey (LFS), as well as other household surveys.
As announced in the press release Labour Force, Employment and Unemployment in the 1st quarter of 2025, in order to analyse the impact of the new sample on the LFS results, during the 1st quarter of 2025, data collection was carried out in parallel – within both EMDOS 3 and the sample in use until 1 January of this year (EMDOS 2). The preliminary data presented in that press release for the 1st quarter were based on the results obtained under EMDOS 2. Currently, alongside the preparation of the labour force data for the 2nd quarter of this year, based on EMDOS 3, the finalisation of the data for the 1st quarter, according to the new sample (EMDOS 3), is in progress. Considering the complexity of these works, they will be completed by the end of September of this year, when the dissemination of the data for both quarters of the current year, based on the new sample, is planned.
At the same time, the Labour Force Survey is an essential source for estimating the Gross Domestic Product, in particular for assessing the non-observed economy. Therefore, the preparation of GDP data, as well as the statistical press release Gross Domestic Product in the 2nd quarter of 2025, requires additional time, estimated until the end of the current month.
The National Bureau of Statistics presents its apologies for the rescheduling of the publication of data on the Gross Domestic Product in the 2nd quarter of 2025 and Labour Force, Employment and Unemployment in the 2nd quarter of 2025, and thanks users for their understanding, emphasising that this measure is aimed at ensuring the accuracy and quality of statistical information.
