The National Bureau of Statistics reports that in January-March 2025, public transport companies transported 82.3 million passengers, 10.3% more than in the same period last year. This evolution was due to the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+31.4%), river (+14.9%), trolleybus (+11.1%) and road transport (+10.3%). At the same time, the number of passengers carried by rail transport decreased by 33.3% during the analyzed period. Passenger turnover increased by 13.0% and amounted to 1,474.6 million passenger-km.

In January-March 2025, railway, road, river and air transport enterprises transported 3.9 million tons of cargo, which is 1.6% lower than in January-March 2024. During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by road transport (+1.1%) increased. At the same time, the volume of cargo transported by air (-25.6%), rail (-15.7%) and river transport (-2.3%) decreased. Cargo turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 1161.7 million ton-km, which is 12.4% less than in the same period last year.
