The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2024 the number of visitors, participants in tourism organised by travel agencies and tour operators constituted 555.9 thousand persons (with 10.4% more than in 2023), of which:

• inbound tourism (receiving foreign citizens in the country) registered 67.6 thousand people (+55.1% compared to 2023);

• outbound tourism (travel of Moldovan residents abroad) – 9 persons (+9.5%);

• domestic tourism (travel of Moldovan residents within the country for tourism purposes) – 91.3 thousand (-6.5%).

In the analysed period, the outbound tourism held the highest share – 71.4% in the total tourism activities, and the inbound and domestic tourism, respectively 12.2% and 16.4%.

In 2024, the revenues of travel agencies and tour operators totalled 4,622.1 million lei (10.4% more than in 2023), of which: from inbound tourism – 66.5 million lei (+45.8%), from outbound tourism – 4,343.0 million lei (+10.7%), from domestic tourism – 212.6 million lei (-1.5%).
