National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the ,,Labor Force Survey” (LFS), in the second quarter of 2023, young people aged between 15-34 years were represented by the following categories of people:
- young people neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET), the proportion of which was 27,1%, decreasing by 2.7 p.p. compared to the level of the second quarter of 2022 (29,8%)
- young people not in employment, but in education and training, which reached the share of 27,0%, or by 1,2 p.p. more compared to the second quarter of 2022
- young people in employment, but not in education and training young people in employment and in education and training, which constituted 35,4%, increasing compared to the second quarter of 2022 by 0,7 p.p.
- young people in employment and in education and training, which marked 4,1%, increasing compared to the second quarter of 2022 (2,0%)
- young people who are abroad working or looking for work for a period of up to one year and not in education and training, which constituted 6,4%, decreasing by 1,4 p.p. compared to the level of the second quarter of 2022.
The total number of young people aged 15-34 years who forming the NEET group was 158,9 thousand people aged 15-24 years – 37,3 thousand people, aged 15-29 years – 95,2 thousand people. For all these three age groups, the majority are women (60,7% at the group 15-24 years, 69,6% at the aged 15-29 years and 68,3% at rge aged 15-34 years).
