Business demography in Moldova in 2017
Business demography presents statistics on enterprises birth and death, the development of newly created enterprises. Statistical data on business demography are relevant to economic analyses.
In 2017, the number of reporting enterprises amounted to 47,5 thou. enterprises, of which 33,9 thou. are active enterprises that represent 71,3% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During the 2017 year, 5,5 thou. enterprises were created and 7,5 thou. enterprises were liquidated.
The predominant part of active enterprises in 2017 were operating in the trade, accounting 15 thou. enterprises, or 44,4% of all active enterprises. In the manufacturing industry - 3,4 thou. enterprises or 9,9% of all active enterprises.
