Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-August 2016
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in August 2016 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 1500,4 thou. tonnes of goods, with 25,9% more than in the previous month and with 19,0% compared to August 2015. The turnover of goods in August 2016 summed up 375,3 mio. tonne-km, with 18,0% more than in the previous month and with 11,1% compared to August 2015.
In January-August 2016 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 8020,5 thou. tonnes of goods, with 7,0% less than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The turnover of goods summed up 2412,1 mio. tonne-km, with 3,9% less than in the January-August 2015.
