Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-July 2019
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 59,7 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-July 2019, with 2,0% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 3387,0 million passenger-kilometers, with 3,3% more than January-July 2018.
In the period under review, passenger transport accounted for the highest share (97,0%), followed by air transport (1,5%) and rail transport (1,3%).
Compared to January-July 2018, increases were recorded for road transport of passengers (+2,5%), river (+1,4%). Rail passenger transport and air passenger transport decreased by (-19,9%) respectively by (-1,6%).
