Freight and passenger transportation in the Republic of Moldova in January-March 2019
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 25,3 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-March 2019, with 3,1% more than in the similar period of 2018. The passenger's journey constituted 1195,4 million passenger-kilometers, with 4,4% more than January-March 2018.
In the period under review, passenger transport accounted for the highest share (97,3%), followed by rail transport (1,5%) and air transport (1,1%).
Compared to January-March 2018, increases were recorded for river transport of passengers (+29,1%) and road (+3,3%). Air passenger transport and rail passenger transport decreased by 1,0% respectively by 5,7%.
