Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss Both at the global and the national level, SDG 15 emphasizes the sustainable use (including restoring) of land resources and the prevention of land degradation, protection of inland fresh water ecosystems, conservation, rehabilitation of forests (including increasing afforestation and reforestation), conservation of biodiversity, ending poaching and integration of biodiversity and ecosystems values in policies at all levels. Moldova has adopted many strategies in this area, with the challenge being adopting a more integrated approach and securing the financial resources necessary for restauration and conservation of its terrestrial ecosystems resources. |

* Nationalized targets, nationalized indicators and statistical data presented under this heading are taken from the Report "Nationalization of indicators for SDG" and Adapting the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development to the context of the Republic of Moldova elaborated by Expert-Grup in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and UN Moldova in 2017 and presents the situation at that time. Currently, the next stage of revising the nationalized indicators is taking place, thus, some indicators can be revised or supplemented later.
