International trade of goods of the Republic of Moldova in August 2025

Exports of goods in August 2025 were amounted to 332,6 million USD, with 4,2% less than in July 2025 and with 22,0% more compared to August 2024.

Exports of goods in January-August 2025, amounted to 2280,8 million USD, which is 2,5 less than in the corresponding period of 2024.

Exports of domestic goods in January-August 2025 amounted to 1771,4 million USD (77,7% of total exports), with 0,6% more than in the corresponding period of 2024, which influenced the increase of the total value of exports with 0,4%.

Reexports of foreign goods in January-August 2025 amounted to 509,4 million USD (22,3% of total exports), or 11,7% less than in the corresponding period of 2024, which influenced the decrease of the total value of exports with 2,9%.

Exports of goods to the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-August 2025 totaled 1540,6 million USD (0,2% more than in the corresponding period of 2024), accounting 67,5% of total exports, with 1,8 percentage points more than in January-August 2024.

Exports of goods to CIS2 countries in January-August 2025 amounted to 143,4 million USD (19,2% less than in the corresponding period of 2024), equivalent to a share of 6,3% in total exports, less with 1,3 percentage points compared to January-August 2024.

Imports of goods in August 2025 amounted to 889,2 million USD, with 1,8% less compared to July 2025 and with 20,8% more compared to August 2024.

Imports of goods in January-August 2025, totaled USD 6911,9 million, which is 18,3% more than in the corresponding period of 2024.

Imports of goods from the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-August 2025 amounted to 3726,0 million USD (with 29,6% more compared to corresponding period of 2024), accounting for 53,9% of total imports, more with 4,7 percentage points compared to January-August 2024.

Imports of goods from CIS2 countries in January-August 2025 amounted to 200,4 million USD (with 11,5% less than in the same period of 2024), equivalent to a share of 2,9% in total imports, less with 1,0 percentage points compared to January-August 2024.

The trade balance deficit in August 2025 was 556,6 million USD, which is 1,5 million USD (-0,3%) less than in July 2025, and with 93,3 million USD (+20,1%) more compared to August 2024.

The considerable gap between exports and imports of goods led to the accumulation of a trade balance deficit amounting to 4631,1 million USD in January-August 2025, which is 1128,6 million USD (+32,2%) more than the level recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.

In January-August 2025, the trade balance with the European Union (EU-27) recorded a deficit of 2185,4 million USD, and with CIS countries – 57,0 million USD, which is 846,9 million USD (1,6 times) more, respectively 8,1 million USD (+16,8%) more, compared to the values recorded in the corresponding period of 2024.
