On January 1, 2022, according to the National Social Insurance House, the estimated number of people with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova accounted for 168,0 thousand people, including 10,6 thousand children aged 0-17 years. People with disabilities represented 6,5% out of the total number of population with usual residence, and children with disabilities accounted for 1,9% out of the total number of children with usual residence in the Republic of Moldova.
On 1 January 2022, the share of men in the structure of people with disabilities was 52,6%. The share of men with disabilities in the total population of men was 1,3 percentage points higher than the share of women with disabilities in the total population of women.
