The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-June 2025, the number of visitors (tourists and excursionists), participants in tourism organized by travel and tour operator agencies totaled 228.3 thousand people (8.7% more than in the period January-June 2024), of which:

• inbound tourism (the total number of activities of a non-resident visitor in the visited country as part of an inbound tourist trip) recorded 37.1 thousand people (+44.8% compared to January-June 2024);
• outbound tourism (travel of residents of a country outside its borders for tourism purposes for more than 24 hours) - 146.4 thousand people (+3.8%);
• domestic tourism (travel of residents of the Republic of Moldova within the country for tourism purposes) - 44.8 thousand people (+3.1%).

During the analyzed period, outbound tourism held the largest share - 64.1% of the total volume of tourism activity, while inbound and domestic tourism accounted for 16.3% and 19.6%, respectively.

In January-June 2025, the revenues of travel and tour operator agencies amounted to 1.7 billion lei (12.0% more than in January-June 2024), of which: from inbound tourism - 35.0 million lei (+47.7%), from outbound tourism - 1.6 billion lei (+11.9%), from domestic tourism - 87.3 million lei (+4.7%).
