National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the ,,Labor Force Survey” (LFS), in the second quarter of 2024, young people aged between 15-34 years were represented by the following categories of people:
- young people neither in employment nor in education and training (NEET), the proportion of which was 25,3%, of the total (-1.8 p.p. compared to the second quarter of 2023);
- young people not in employment, but in education and training, which reached the share of 29,3 % of the total (+ 2.3 p.p. compared to the second quarter of 2023);
- young people in employment, but not in education and training, which marked 36,1% of the total (+0.7 p.p. compared to the second quarter of 2023);
- young people in employment and in education and training, which constituted 4,0% of the total (-0.1 p.p. compared to the second quarter of 2023);
- young people who are abroad working or looking for work for a period of up to one year and not in education and training, which constituted 5,3% of the total (down by 1.1 p.p. compared to the level of the second quarter of 2023)
The total number of young people aged 15-34 years who forming the NEET group was 135.9 thousand people aged 15-24 years – 31.8 thousand people, aged 15-29 years – 79.9 thousand people. For all these three age groups, the majority are women (60.7% at the group 15-24 years, 65.9% at the aged 15-29 years and 65.5% at age aged 15-34 years).
