National Bureau of Statistics informs that average consumer prices in April 2023 compared to March 2023 increased by 2,2%.
The increase in average consumer prices was determined by the increase in prices at:
- food products by 0,7%, contributing to the increase of average consumer prices by 0,3%;
- non-food goods by 0,4%, contributing to the increase of average consumer prices by 0,1%;
- services provided to the population by 7,5%, contributing to the increase of average consumer prices by 1,8%.
In April 2023 compared to March 2023, from food products, more pronounced increases in average consumer prices were marked for fruit - by 4,1% (including: exotic fruits - by 5,1%), vegetables - by 1.5%. At the same time, during the analysis period, price reductions were recorded for vegetable oil - by 5,3% and chicken eggs - by 2,6%.
In non-food goods in April 2023 compared to March 2023, average prices for fuels and combustibles decreased by 1,5% (including: diesel - by 5,1%, liquefied gas – by 3,8%).
The average prices for services provided to the population in April this year compared to March 2023 they increased by 7,5%, in particular for gas supply and thermal energy, for which, as of April 2023, there are no longer compensation granted by the Government for the payment of energy bills for domestic consumers during the cold period of the year (November 2022 - March 2023)2.
Annual inflation
Average consumer prices in April 2023 compared to April 2022 (in the last 12 months) increased by 18,1%, including food products by 16,4%, non-food goods by 10,6% and services provided to the population by 33,2%.
