National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in April 2023 industrial production (gross series) decreased compared to the corresponding month of the previous year by 10,7%. The decrease in production in April 2023 compared to April 2022 was caused by decreases in the extractive industry (-31,7%) and in manufacturing (-17,6%) generating decreases in total industry production of 0,8% and 15,5% respectively.  At the same time, there was an increase in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+60,5%) attenuating the decrease in total industry output by 5,6%.
