National Bureau of Statistics informs:

• in August 2023 compared to August 2022 industrial production (gross series) decreased by 0,1%

• in January-August 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year industrial production (gross series) decreased by 6,3%.

The decrease in production (gross series) in August 2023 compared to August 2022 (by 0,1%) was caused by decreases in extractive (-10,1%) and manufacturing industry (-1,8%), generating decreases in total industry production of 0,3% and 1,6% respectively. At the same time, there was an increase in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+23,0%), attenuating the decrease in total industry production by 1,8% respectively.
