National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in February 2023 industrial production (gross series) decreased compared to the corresponding month of the previous year by 4,9%. The decrease in production in February 2023 compared to February 2022 was caused by decreases in extractive industry (-19,4%) and manufacturing (-8,7%), generating decreases in total industry production of 0,3% and 6,0% respectively. At the same time, there was an increase in the production and supply of electricity and heat, gas, hot water and air conditioning (+5,0%), attenuating the decrease in total industry output by 1,4%.
