National Bureau of Statistics staff had benefited of two new modules "Using Excel in Statistics" training course, organized within "Improved regional statistics in Moldova" EU funded Project.

During 4 consecutive days between 8 to 11 November 2016, "Improved regional statistics in Moldova" (STATREG) EU Project delivered two new modules of training courses series on “Excel use in statistics” dedicated to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) staff.

First Module, organized on 8 and 9 November, was focused primarily on the basics of Microsoft Excel, Google Spreadsheets and OpenOffice Calc.

Participants had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge on working with spreadsheets, computing basic Excel formulas and functions and information on using eLearning platform.

The following 2 days, November 10 to 11 were dedicated to identifying educational resources and massive open coursework for continuous training. There were also presented several examples and exercises on data validation, importing and exporting data from Excel.

First and third modules of “Using Excel in statistics” training series have been delivered by the international expert in information technology with an extensive experience in educational programs, including eLearning, Mrs. Carmen Holotescu.
