The National Bureau of Statistics offers graduates of faculties with an economic, statistical, econometrics, mathematics, information technology, international relations, or law profile the opportunity to be employed in the labor market.

We hire individuals as civil servants, field operators, or technical support staff. The recruitment process is carried out in accordance with current legislation, depending on the type of vacant positions, based on a competitive selection process and job interviews. Staff selection is guided by the principles of competition, objectivity, transparency, diversity, and meritocracy.

Recruitment procedure

Appointment to public service positions is carried out through a competitive selection process that includes the following stages:

  • submission and review of candidates’ documents;
  • written examination (only for public service positions);
  • job interview.

To participate in the competition, applicants must meet a set of requirements established by the Law on Public Service and the Status of Public Servants, as follows:

General conditions for holding a public service position:

  • holds citizenship of the Republic of Moldova;
  • has knowledge of the state language;
  • possesses the required education for the position to be filled;
  • has knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel);
  • is medically fit;
  • has no criminal record;
  • does not have the status of suspect, accused, or defendant in criminal proceedings;
  • is not a member of a political party.

General conditions for holding the position of field operator:

  • skills in using a tablet (or smartphone);
  • good orientation in the field;
  • communication and presentation skills;
  • knowledge of Romanian and Russian – at least intermediate level (both languages);
  • accustomed to systematic work and strict observance of deadlines related to data transmission.

For other categories of technical support staff, employment is carried out provided that the necessary conditions for occupying the vacant position and fulfilling the specific tasks are met.

Documents to be submitted
  • Application form for participation in the competition for filling a public service position.
    If the application is submitted through the platform cariere.gov.md, the application form will be generated and completed automatically based on the data from the electronic application.
  • Copy of the identity card.
    The submitted copies may be notarized or presented together with the original documents for verification of their authenticity. If the competition file is submitted by post or e-mail, this requirement applies on the date of the written examination of the competition, under penalty of rejection of the application file.
  • Copies of education diplomas and certificates of completion of professional development and/or specialization courses.
  • Documents certifying professional experience.
    Copy of the employment record book, certificates regarding professional activity carried out after January 1, 2019, or other supporting documents.
  • Criminal record certificate or declaration on one’s own responsibility.
    The criminal record certificate may be replaced by a declaration on one’s own responsibility. In this case, the candidate is obliged to complete the competition file with the original document within a maximum of 10 calendar days from the date they are declared the winner, under penalty of non-issuance of the administrative appointment act.
  • Consent for the processing of personal data.

The selection process for vacant public service positions and functions is finalized with employment, depending on the results obtained by the candidate. Employment within the NBS is carried out officially, in compliance with current labor legislation and all social guarantees, including opportunities for promotion and professional career development.

Developing the professional skills of staff at the National Bureau of Statistics

An effective system of continuous professional development is essential for maintaining an optimal level of performance among employees of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). It contributes to updating knowledge, developing skills, and promoting the attitudes necessary for the efficient fulfillment of tasks.

Purpose:

To ensure the continuous development of the professional competencies of NBS staff, in order to respond to changes in the regulatory framework, develop the competencies required to achieve position-specific objectives, and support the modernization of public services.

Objectives:

In this context, based on an analysis of staff training needs, the NBS annually develops a Staff Professional Development Plan, which represents an essential strategic stage in ensuring organizational progress.
