The National Bureau of Statistics has the pleasure to invite you all to the launch event of the Population and Housing Census 2024 under the title "Open the door for the Census: Community, Transparency, Participation".

The event will take place on Saturday, 6 April 2024, at 11:00 A.M., in the square of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre Maria Biesu (Chișinău, str. Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt 152).

The aim of the event is to raise awareness about the importance of the census, encourage active community participation, and highlight the role of everyone in building a better society.

Opening remarks will have:

• Dorin Recean, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova
• Oleg Cara, General Director of the National Bureau of Statistics
• Jānis Mažeiks, Ambassador of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova
• Karina Nersesyan, Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in the Republic of Moldova.

The event agenda also includes presentation of enumerators and equipment census parade, distribution of census leaflets and promotional materials, interaction with census specialists, live music, traditional food and other interactive activities.

We believe that this launch event will provide a memorable and educational experience for all participants and your presence will play a crucial role in spreading awareness about the census and encouraging public participation.
