The National Bureau of Statistics reports that in January-March 2026, public transport companies transported 82,8 million passengers, 0,7% more than in the same period of the last year. This evolution was due to the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+9,4%) and trolleybus (+1,5%) transport. At the same time, the number of passengers carried by rail (-68,9%), river (-58,8%) and road (-0,5%) transport decreased during the analyzed period. Passenger turnover increased by 8,1% and amounted to 1594,6 million passenger-km.

In January-March 2026, railway, road, river and air transport enterprises transported 4,5 million tons of cargo, which is 15,1% more than in January-March 2025. During the reporting period, the volume of cargo transported by road (+17,7%) and rail (+2,3%) transport increased. At the same time, the volume of cargo transported by river (-57,0%) and air (-42,7%) transport decreased. Cargo turnover of transport enterprises amounted to 1332,3 million tonnes-km, which is 14,7% more than in the same period last year
