About

Demographic statistics are a set of data on the number, structure, distribution, natural and migratory movement of the population. Population estimates by place of usual residence are based on the adjusted population in the 2014 Census of Population and Housing, adding births, excluding deaths (natural growth) and migration flow (net migration).

The average annual population is the arithmetic mean of the population at the beginning of the estimated year and at the beginning of the following year. Population data are disaggregated by gender, age and territory. The annual data are produced by the NBS in collaboration with the Public Services Agency (PSA) and the General Inspectorate of Border Police (GIBP).

The data is published annually.
