National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2017 the economically active population of the Republic of Moldova was 1259,1 thousand persons, without essential changes compared to 2016.
Living standard of the population
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2017 monthly disposable incomes of population summed up in average per person 2244,9 lei, which is with 9,0% more than in 2016. In real terms population incomes registerd an increase of 2,2%.
The top management of the National Bureau of Statistics greets the decision of the Government to approve the creation of the National Statistics Council based on article 9 of the Law no. 93 from 26 May 2017 on official statistics. The Council will be composed of 11 members, representatives of the central statistical authority, specialized bodies of the central public administration producing official statistics, academic environment and one representative from the National Bank of Moldova, employers associations and civil society.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-February 2018 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 2,0 mio. tonnes of goods, with 40,3% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year. The turnover of goods summed up 649,9 mio. tonne-km, with 12,4% more than in the January-February 2017.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2017 the gross written premiums amounted to 1441,9 million lei, increasing by 4,5% compared to the gross premiums written in the previous year. Compensation and insurance indemnities paid amounted to 491,2 million lei, decreasing by 5,4% compared to the payments made in 2016.
Industrial production price indices
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in February 2017 the producer prices in industry decreased with 0,2% compared to January 2018 and December 2017.

Sales indices of agricultural production prices
National Bureau of Statistics informs that producer prices (average sale prices by agricultural enterprises) of agricultural products in 2017 registered 97,9% compared to 2016.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the IV-th quarter 2017 the economically active population of the Republic of Moldova was 1210,2 thousand persons, more with 1,4% compared to the IV-th quarter 2016.
The publication contains quarterly statistical information which presents the economic, social and demographic situation of the municipality Chisinau. The publication contains statistical indicators regarding industry, agriculture, investments in long term tangible assets and construction, transport, communications, tourism, domestic trade of goods, insurance, work remuneration, labour force market, unemployment, demographic situation, crimes.
National Bureau of Statistics communicates that in January-December 2017 value of investments in fixed assets amounted to 20996,6 mio. lei. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, this indicator increased with 1,3%.
According to information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2017, 35,6 thousand crimes were recorded on the territory of the country, registering a decrease of 15,0% compared to the previous year, and compared to 2013 the level of criminality decreased by 6,8%. The crime rate is 100 offenses per 10 thousand residents compared to 107 offenses in 2013.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the IV-th quarter 2017 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 6113,6 Lei, an increase of 12,4% compared to the IV-th quarter 2016. The index of the real salary in the IV-th quarter 2017 compared to the IV-th quarter of 2016 was 104,6%, more with 4,6% compared to previous year.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-December 2017 were put into operation 7236 dwellings with total area of 571,8 m², or 10,9% more than in January-December 2016.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-December 2017 volume of works carried out by organizations with the main activity "Constructions" amounted 8984,2 mio. Lei, which is 102,3% compared to January-December 2016.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2017, turnover in retail trade decreased with 4,6% compared to 2016.
The Statistical yearbook "Chisinau in figures" is the most complete publication, which comprises statistical data regarding the demographic, social and economic situation of the municipality. The yearbook is structured in 16 chapters, containing information from various fields: general data, population, labour market, education, culture and sport, health protection and social protection, dwellings and public utilities, tourism, environment, justice. The yearbook contains as well statistical data on industry, agriculture, investments, constructions, transports, trade and services, financial results of economic agents.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2017 tourism agencies and tour-operators provided tourism services to 285,0 thousand tourists and excursionists, with 21,7% more than in 2016. The growth of the number of tourists and excursionists was caused by increase of outbound tourism, inbound tourism. In the same time, the number of tourists decreased of internal tourism.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in December 2017, the industrial production decreased by 3,0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of decrease of the quarrying industry, the manufacturing industry and the production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2017, 337,2 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 145,2 thou. foreign tourists and 192,0 thou. Moldovan tourists.

The yearbook contains the most recent statistical data available in various fields, for economic and social characterization of the country in 2016, as well as the evolution in recent years of the main economic indicators.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in 2017 exports summed up 2425,1 mio. USD, more than in the 2016 with 18,6% and imports summed up 4831,4 mio. USD, more than in the 2016 with 20,2%.
According to data of National Bank of Moldova, in 2017 cash receipts in the financial institutions amounted to 108884 million lei, more with 9,2% compared to 2016.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2017 the number of crossings of the state border by foreign citizens, at the entrance in Republic of Moldova, totaled 3,9 million, increasing by 4,7% compared to 2016. In 2017 the number of crossings of the state border by Moldovan citizens, leaving the country amounted to 5,7 million, with 1,8% less than in 2016.
