National Bureau of Statistics informs, that in January-June 2013, Gross Domestic Product constituted in nominal value 43376 million lei, current market prices, and has increased - in real terms (average prices of 2012) - with 4,9% compared with January-June 2012. In the quarter II of 2013, the Gross Domestic Product amounted to 23703 million lei, exceeding the results of the same period of the previous year with 6,1%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the 2nd quarter of 2013 the economically active population (employed population plus unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1288,4 thousand persons, more with 1,7% (21,5 thousand) compared to the 2nd quarter of 2012. The share of employed population in the economically active population decreased with 0,2 percent points. In the rural area, this share decreased with 0,8 percent points, with no chage in the urban area.

National Bureau of Statistics communicates, that in 2012 enterprises and organizations of all forms of ownerships carried out investments in long-term tangible assets to the amount of 16601,4 mio. lei (current prices) from all financing sources. As compared to 2011 this volume decreased with 4,2% (comparable prices). In average there were 4664,0 lei of investments per inhabitant, compared to 4620,7 lei in 2011.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-June 2013 tourism agencies and tour-operators have provided tourism services to 80,9 thousand tourists and excursionists, that is with 1,6% more than in the corresponding period of 2012. In January-June 2013, compared to the corresponding period of 2012, the number of arrived and departed tourists and excursionists increased, with 6,1% and 4,4% accordingly, whereas, the number of internal tourism decreased with 10,6%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in July 2013 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 1322,9 thou. tonnes of goods with 18,0% more than in the previous month and with 19,0% - compared to July 2012. The turnover of goods in July 2013 summed up 386,1 mio. tonne-km, with 6,8% more than in the previous month and with 14,2% - compared to July 2012.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-June 2013 112,3 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 68,0 thou. Moldovan tourists (60,6%) and 44,3 thou. foreign tourists (39,4%). In comparison with January-June 2012 the number of tourists has increased (+1,1%), mainly due to the increase of the number of tourists in hostels (+19,2), hotels and motels (+5,6%).

National Bureau of Statistics informs that during January-June 2013, the agricultural output of agricultural holdings of all types represented 102,8% as compared to the same period of 2012. The growth in the agricultural output was determined by the increase of vegetal production with 29,0% and livestock production less - with 1,9%. In the total agricultural output, the livestock production has a share of 81%, whereas the vegetal production – 19%.
