National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the real sector units with 4 or more employees and all budgetary institutions, in the first quarter of 2026:

• the average gross monthly earnings amounted to 15987,1 lei, and increased by 9,7% compared to the first quarter of 2025 and decreased by 2,3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025;

• the index of real earnings (calculated as the ratio between the index of gross nominal earnings and the consumer price index), compared to the first quarter of 2025, amounted to 104,3%, indicating a 4,3% real-term increase in earnings;

• the average number of employees, compared to the first quarter of 2025, increased by 1,7%.
