International trade of goods of the Republic of Moldova in March 20261

Exports of goods in March 2026 were amounted to 298.1 million EUR, with 4.4% more than in February 2026 and with 7.5% more compared to March 2025.

Exports of goods in January-March 2026, amounted to 848.5 million EUR, which is 10.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2025.

Exports of domestic goods in January-March 2026 amounted to 686.8 million EUR (80.9% of total exports), with 13.3% more than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the increase of the total value of exports with 10.5%.

Reexports of foreign goods in January-March 2026 amounted to 161.7 million EUR (19.1% of total exports), or 1.5% less than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the decrease of the total value of exports with 0.3%.

Exports of goods to the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-March 2026 totaled 524.9 million EUR (9.5% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), accounting 61.8% of total exports, with 0,4 percentage points less than in January-March 2025.

Exports of goods to CIS2 countries in January-March 2026 amounted to 52.3 million EUR (with 8.2% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 6.2% in total exports, less with 0.1 percentage points compared to January-March 2025.

Imports of goods in March 2026 amounted to 932.4 million EUR, with 13.4% more compared to February 2026 and with 4.9% more compared to March 2025.

Imports of goods in January-March 2026, totaled USD 2453.1 million, which is 1.4% more than in the corresponding period of 2025.

Imports of goods from the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-March 2026 amounted to 1386.3 million EUR (with 2.9% more compared to corresponding period of 2025), accounting for 56.5% of total imports, more with 0.8 percentage points compared to January-March 2025.

Imports of goods from CIS2 countries in January-March 2026 amounted to 73.7 million EUR (with 9.0% less than in the same period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 3.0% in total imports, less with 0.4 percentage points compared to January-March 2025.

The trade balance deficit in March 2026 was 634.3 million EUR, which is 97.6 million EUR (+18.2%) more than in February 2026, and with 22.8 million EUR (+3.7%) more compared to March 2025.

The considerable gap between exports and imports of goods led to the accumulation of a trade balance deficit amounting to 1604.6 million EUR in January-March 2026, which is 43.7 million EUR (-2.6%) less than the level recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

In January-March 2026, the trade balance with the European Union (EU-27) recorded a deficit of 861.4 million EUR, and with CIS countries – 21.4 million EUR, which is 7.0 million EUR (-0.8%) less, respectively with 11.4 million EUR (-34.5%) less, compared to the values recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
