National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the II-nd quarter 2014 the economically active population (employed population and unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1328,6 thousand persons, more with 3,1% (40,2 thou.) compared to the II-nd quarter 2013. The structure of the active population has changed as follows: the share of employed persons increasead from 95,3% to 96,4%, while the share of unemployed persons decreased from 4,7% to 3,7%.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, during January-June 2014, the agricultural output of agricultural holdings of all types represented 107,7% as compared to the same period of 2013. The growth in the agricultural output was determined by the increase of vegetal production with 7,1% and of livestock production - with 7,8%. In the total agricultural output, the livestock production has a share of 86%, whereas the vegetal production – 14%.

The turnover of goods in June 2014 summed up 334,7 mio. tonne-km, with 4,7% more than in the previous month and with 8,5% less compared to June 2013.

National Bureau of Statistics informs, that since 2000 a continuous increase in life expectancy can be observed, except for in 2005, when a high level of general and infant mortality was registered. In 2013, this indicator registered its maximum duration - 71,9 years, accordingly 68,1 years for men and 75,6 years for women. The significant increase in life expectancy was influenced by lower general mortality rate - 10,7 deaths per 1000 inhabitants, and lower infant mortality rate, which represented 9,4 deaths of children under 1 year per 1000 live births.
