The EU funded project “Technical Assistance to Support the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova” is seeking high-qualified national applicants for the position of a Graphic and Layout Designer to support the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova in revising and enriching the visual identity of the Institution, and developing specific branding products in line with the national legislation and the best European standards followed by other European National Institutes of Statistics.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in December 2020 the annual inflation (for the last 12 months) registered 0,39%, including food products 1,66%, nonfood products (-0,49%) and services (-0,30%).
The yearbook contains the most recent statistical data available in various fields, for economic and social characterization of the country in 2019, as well as the evolution in recent years of the main indicators. The data on some indicators are revised compared to those previously published, and for 2019 some indicators are preliminary and in further editions can be revised.
Living standard of the population
National Bureau of Statistics presents statistical information on the level of poverty in the Republic of Moldova in 2019, according to the standard set of indicators on poverty, estimated based on the results of the Household Budget Survey.
The collection is structured in 8 chapters that refers to the: macroeconomic indicators; consolidated accounts; accounts by institutional sectors; accounts by institutional sectors and economic activities; gross domestic product by type of ownership; the small and medium enterprise sector; integrated economic accounts; regional gross domestic product.
The compilation presents statistical data in the form of tables from various domains: territorial-administrative organization, environment, population, labour force, population incomes and expenditures, prices, dwellings, education, health protection, culture, tourism, crimes, Regional Gross Domestic Product, industry, agriculture, investments in long term assets, constructions, transport, information technologies, retail trade, entrepreneurship.
The publication contains statistics concerning the air protection in atmosphere, the use of aquatic resources, the existence of land and forestry resources, formation and use of consumption and production waste, protected natural areas, the association of hunting, violations of ecologic legislation. For the first time chapters regarding natural disasters and change of weather were included in the publication.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2020/21, primary and general secondary education is provided in 106 primary schools, 787 secondary schools, 338 high schools and 10 schools for children with intelectual or physical disabilities. Out of the total of 1241 general primary and secondary education institutions, 98,1% belong to the public sector and 74,5% operate in rural areas.
The bulletin contains data in dynamics in the form of tables statistical indicators for years, quarters, months, which characterize the social, economic and demographic situation of the country. Information on main social and economic situation of CIS countries is presented.
Living standard of the population
The National Bureau of Statistics presents the results of the module “The influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the household” in the third quarter of 2020. The nominated module was carried out within the Household Budget Survey. Household responses to module questions referred to the period since the beginning of the pandemic.
The yearbook is structured in 16 chapters, containing information from various fields: general data, population, labour force, population incomes and expenditures, education, culture and sport, health protection and social protection, dwellings and public utilities, environment, justice. The yearbook contains as well statistical data on retail trade, industry, agriculture, investments in long term tangible assets and construction, transports, tourism and financial results of economic agents.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in October 2020, the industrial production decreased by 7,7% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as a result of decrease of the manufacturing industry. In the same time the quarrying industry and production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply registered an increase.
The publication presents the results of enterprises activity received as a result of data processing of the Sampling Structural Survey spent in 2019. The statistical publication represents the main indicators of the activity of the enterprises from the Republic of Moldova, by types of activity, forms of ownership, size classes, regional profile.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2020/21, the higher education institutions network have a total of 24 units including 16 state and 8 non-state institutions. Most of them, mainly 20 units are located in Chişinău municipality and 1 unit each in Balţi, Cahul, Comrat and Taraclia.
Industrial production price indices
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in November 2020 the producer prices in industry increased by 0,7% compared to October 2020, with 3,2% compared to November 2019 and with 3,1% compared to December 2019.

In 2019, the number of reporting enterprises amounted to 49,3 thou. enterprises, of which 35,7 thou. are active enterprises that represent 72,4% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During the 2019 year, 5,3 thou. enterprises were created and 9,1 thou. enterprises were liquidated.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-October 2020 exports summed up 1537,2 millions USD, less than in the corresponding period of 2019 with 5,7% and imports summed up 4325,6 millions USD, less than in the corresponding period of 2019 with 9,9%.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that 45,2 million passengers were transported with public transport in January-October 2020, with 47,2% less than in the similar period of 2019. The passengers turnover constituted 2014,7 million passenger-kilometers, with 60,8% less than January-October 2019.
he National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), estimated for the 3rd quarter of 2020, in nominal value amounted to 61719 million lei current market prices. Compared to the 3rd quarter of 2019, GDP decreased by 9,7% on the gross series and by 11,5% on the seasonally adjusted series. Compared to the 2nd quarter of 2020, GDP decreased by 1,1% on the seasonally adjusted series.
In academic year 2020/21, the number of vocational technical education institutions was 91 units, including 13 centers of excellence, 36 colleges and 42 vocational schools. At the beginning of the academic year 2020/21, the number of pupils study in technical vocational institutions was 44,9 thousand students, of which 12,6 thou. - in centers of excellence, 18,4 thou. students each in vocational schools and 13,9 thou. - in colleges.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the research “Distribution of employees according to the size of the salary calculated for September 2020”, the average gross monthly earnings of an employee in September 2020 was 7991,3 lei.

Republic of Moldova ranked 19th in the world and 3rd in the Eastern Europe by coverage and openness of official statistical data. These results were made public by Open Data Watch - Open Data Inventory, which beginning with 2015, annually, conducts an assessment of the coverage and openness of official statistics around the world.
According to the results of the Labour Force Survey, in the third quarter of 2020, the labour force of the Republic of Moldova, which includes the employed and unemployed population, was 893,6 thousand persons, decreasing by 5,7% in comparison to the third quarter of 2019.
The EU funded project “Technical Assistance to Support the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova” (ParStat) is seeking high-qualified national applicants for preparing a concept document on the Integrated Automated Information System (IAIS) that is being developed at the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova.
The publication contains quarterly statistical information which presents the economic, social and demographic situation of the municipality Chisinau. The publication contains statistical indicators regarding demographic situation, labour market, health, tourism, crimes, agriculture, industry, investments in fixed assets, construction and transport.
On January 1, 2020, according to the National Social Insurance House, the estimated number of people with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova accounted for 177,0 thousand people, including 10,7 thousand children aged 0-17 years. People with disabilities represented 6,7% out of the total number of population with usual residence, and children with disabilities accounted for 1,9% out of the total number of children with usual residence in the Republic of Moldova.
The National Bureau of Statistics communicates that in January-September 2020 value of investments in non-current assets amounted to 15,0 billion lei, decreasing by 4,4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
