On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the 10 Fundamental Principles of Official Statistics by the United Nations Economic Commission (UNECE), the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova (NBS), along with other statistical offices, accepted the invitation to participate in the international promotion of these principles.

The National Bureau of Statistics, as the central authority in the field of statistics that coordinates statistical activity in the country, together with other national and international partners, has carried out a series of activities to promote Principle 9 which describes the need to use international concepts, classifications and methods in the official statistics.

In this context, we invite you to watch a video, made with the support of the Swiss Cooperation in Moldova, in which Mariana Kotzeva,  Director General of the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat), Nigina Abaszada, Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA Moldova) and Oleg Cara, Director General of the NBS, emphasize the importance of applying Principle 9 in statistics.
