US dollars, with 8,2% less than in the previous month and with 8,8% - compared to April 2013.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the I-st quarter 2014 the economically active population (employed population and unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1128,1 thousand persons, more with 0,6% (7,1 thou.) compared to the I-st quarter 2013. The structure of the active population has changed as follows: the share of employed persons increasead from 91,9% to 94,9%, while the share of unemployed persons decreased from 8,1% to 5,1%.

Population distribution by sex is as follows: 51,9% - women and 48,1% - men. The percentage rate is maintaining the same range as the previous year.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2014 38,2 thou. tourists attended the establishments of collective touristic accommodation, of which 20,9 thou. Moldovan tourists (54,6%) and 17,3 thou. foreign tourists (45,4%). In comparison with January-March 2013 the number of tourists has increased (+4,7%), mainly due to the increase of the number of tourists in health-care structures (21,4%), hotels and motels (+10,1%).

US dollars, with 16,2% more than in the previous month and with 1,0% less compared to March 2013. In January-March 2014 imports summed up 1218,2 mio. USD, less than in the corresponding period of 2013 with 2,0%.

From the total number of units, 53 units or 82,8% are in state ownership compared to 79,7% in 2012.
