10 myths about the 2024 Population and Housing Census in Moldova
Between April 8 and July 7, 2024, the Population and Housing Census will take place in the Republic of Moldova, where data will be collected on the number and demographic characteristics of the population, as well as on residential buildings and living conditions. With reference to the census, various material with erroneous interpretations about the ‘true purposes’ of the census and the data to be collected began to appear in the press and on social media. The Independent Analytical Centre ‘Expert-Grup’ gathered the most frequent rumors about the census and verified whether they were true or not.

European Union and UNFPA donate 3,000 electronic tablets to the National Bureau of Statistics
The European Union and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) today handed over to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) a consignment of digital equipment, including 3,000 electronic tablets and related accessories, worth about 800,000 EUR. The digital equipment is provided for the Population and Housing Census (PHC) that will take place from 8 April to 7 July 2024.

Study visit of NBS statisticians to NIS Romania on road freight transport and tourism statistics
A delegation from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) carried out a study visit to colleagues at the National Institute of Statistics of Romania between 4-8 December. This visit is part of the TAIEX project, funded by the European Union. During this mission, NBS statisticians gained knowledge concerning the tools and the methodology of conducting Statistical surveys in Romania in accordance with the European Union regulations on road freight transport and household tourism demand.
