Labour force in the Republic of Moldova - employment and unemployment in 2011

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2011 the economically active population (employed population and unemployed persons) of the Republic of Moldova was 1257,5 thousand persons, more with 1,8% compared to the previous year. The share of men in the active persons exceeded the share of women (51,7% and, respectively 48,3%).

Employed persons constituted 1173,5 thou. persons, more with 2,6% compared to 2010.

Number of unemployed persons, estimated according to the International Labour Office was 84,0 thou., with 8,0 thou. less compared to 2010.
