National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in October 2016 the average gross nominal earnings constituted 5109,2 Lei, an increase of 11,9% compared to October 2015. The index of the real salary in October 2016 compared to October 2015 was 109,2%, more with 9,2% compared to previous year.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the higher education institutions network have a total of 30 units including 19 state and 11 non-state institutions. Most of them, mainly 26 units are located in Chişinău municipality and 1 unit each in Balţi and Cahul, Taraclia and Comrat. At the beginning of academic year 2016/17, the number of students was 74,7 thousand (excluding foreign students), of which 83 percent are enrolled in state institutions.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in quarter III 2016, monthly disposable incomes of population summed up in average per person 2080,5 lei, which is with 5,2% more than in the similar period of 2015. In real terms (adjusted to the consumer price index) population incomes were almost at the same level as in previous year.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the third quarter of 2016 the Gross domestic product on gross series totaled 39749 mil. lei current market prices, increasing - in real terms - by 6,3% compared to quarter III of 2015. On the series seasonally adjusted, Gross domestic product increased by 7,3% compared to third quarter of 2015 and by 3,0% compared to the second quarter of 2016.
At the beginning of the academic year 2016/17, the number of vocational technical education institutions was 86 units, including 11 centers of excellence, 32 colleges and 43 vocational schools. 48,8 thou. pupils study in technical vocational institutions, of which 14,4 thou. - in centers of excellence and 17,2 thou. pupils each in vocational schools and colleges.
