The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, exports of goods in January-November 2021 summed up 2819,5 millions USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2020 with 25,4% and imports summed up 6419,6 millions USD, more than in the corresponding period of 2020 with 32,4%.

For the first time chapters regarding natural disasters and change of weather were included in the publication.

On 20 and 21 December, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) organized an online workshop with an EU expert to discuss the implementation of the methodology of the 'European System of integrated Social Protection Statistics' (ESSPROS) in the Republic of Moldova. During the workshop, NBS representatives presented the activities carried out during 2021, including the social protection schemes identified at national level, as well as the challenges encountered when compiling the data in accordance with the ESSPROS methodology. During the event, the steps to be taken by Moldova to complete the collection of relevant data and cover all social protection schemes were discussed, including the financial flows of expenses and incomes of employers and non-profit organizations.

The National Bureau of Statistics presented the draft of the new questionnaire on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in enterprises, in line with the requirements of Eurostat - the EU's statistical body. During this activity, NBS was assisted by an international expert, Virginia Balea, working at the Romanian National Institute of Statistics.

The relative indicators reported to the number of population were revised based on the usual resident population.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2020, the number of reporting enterprises amounted to 50,5 thou. enterprises, of which 36,5 thou. are active enterprises that represent 72,2% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During the 2020 year, 5,0 thou. enterprises were created and 10,5 thou. enterprises were liquidated.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in November 2021 the producer prices in industry increased by 7,6% compared to October 2021, increased with 15,0% compared to November 2020 and with 14,3% compared to December 2020.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2021/22, the higher education institutions network have a total of 24 units including 16 state and 8 non-state institutions. Most of them, mainly 20 units are located in Chişinău municipality and 1 unit each in Balţi, Cahul, Comrat and Taraclia.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, the number of innovative enterprises in the period of 2019-2020 constituted 448 enterprises, representing 12,6% of the total number of enterprises included in the survey. Of the total number of innovative enterprises, 50% made several types of innovations, 17% made product and/or process innovation, 34% - organizational and/or marketing methods innovation.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the Gross Domestic Product, estimated for the third quarter of 2021, amounted to 69,8 billion lei, current prices. Compared to the third quarter of 2020, GDP has increased, in real terms, with 8,3% on the gross series and with 10,4% per seasonally adjusted series, against the reduction of the respective indicator in the third quarter of 2020 compared to third quarter 2019 with 9,7%, in real terms.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has completed the revision of the questionnaire for the annual structural survey, according to the latest European requirements on Structural Business Statistics (SBS). Peter Bøegh Nielsen, from the National Institute of Statistics of Denmark, has assisted the NBS in updating the questionnaire, which will be applied in the reporting year 2021.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in November 2021 compared to November 2020 the average consumer prices (for the last 12 months) increased by 12,44%, including food products by 15,49%, nonfood products by 11,28% and services by 9,65%.
