On 20 and 21 December, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) organized an online workshop with an EU expert to discuss the implementation of the methodology of the 'European System of integrated Social Protection Statistics' (ESSPROS) in the Republic of Moldova. During the workshop, NBS representatives presented the activities carried out during 2021, including the social protection schemes identified at national level, as well as the challenges encountered when compiling the data in accordance with the ESSPROS methodology. During the event, the steps to be taken by Moldova to complete the collection of relevant data and cover all social protection schemes were discussed, including the financial flows of expenses and incomes of employers and non-profit organizations.
The publication includes the national non - financial accounts for 2020, prepared in accordance with the methodology of the United Nations System of National Accounts, version 2008. The collection is structured in 8 chapters that refers to the: macroeconomic indicators; consolidated accounts; accounts by institutional sectors; accounts by institutional sectors and economic activities; gross domestic product by type of ownership; the small and medium enterprise sector; integrated economic accounts; regional gross domestic product.
The National Bureau of Statistics presented the draft of the new questionnaire on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in enterprises, in line with the requirements of Eurostat - the EU's statistical body. During this activity, NBS was assisted by an international expert, Virginia Balea, working at the Romanian National Institute of Statistics.
Publication is developed based on the results of structural business survey and presents the main indicators of business activity in the Republic of Moldova, including by types of activity, forms of ownership, size classes and regional aspect.
The yearbook contains the most recent statistical data available in various fields, for economic and social characterization of the country in 2020, as well as the evolution in recent years of the main indicators. The data on some indicators are revised compared to those previously published, and for 2020 some indicators are preliminary and in further editions can be revised. The relative indicators reported to the number of population were revised based on the usual resident population.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the academic year 2021/22, primary and general secondary education is provided in 99 primary schools, 786 secondary schools, 338 high schools and 8 schools for children with intelectual or physical disabilities.

The Statistical yearbook "Chisinau in figures" is the most complete publication, which comprises statistical data regarding the demographic, social and economic situation of the municipality. The yearbook is structured in 16 chapters, containing information from various fields: general data, population, labour force, population incomes and expenditures, education, culture and sport, health protection and social protection, dwellings and public utilities, environment, justice.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2020, the number of reporting enterprises amounted to 50,5 thou. enterprises, of which 36,5 thou. are active enterprises that represent 72,2% of the total number of reporting enterprises. During the 2020 year, 5,0 thou. enterprises were created and 10,5 thou. enterprises were liquidated.
Industrial production price indices
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in November 2021 the producer prices in industry increased by 7,6% compared to October 2021, increased with 15,0% compared to November 2020 and with 14,3% compared to December 2020.

Compared to the third quarter of 2020, GDP has increased, in real terms, with 8,3% on the gross series and with 10,4% per seasonally adjusted series, against the reduction of the respective indicator in the third quarter of 2020 compared to third quarter 2019 with 9,7%, in real terms.

In academic year 2021/22, the number of vocational technical education institutions was 91 units, including 13 centers of excellence, 36 colleges and 42 vocational schools. At the beginning of the academic year 2021/22, the number of pupils study in technical vocational institutions was 46,0 thousand students, of which 12,7 thou. - in centers of excellence, 19,4 thou. - in colleges and 13,9 thou. students each in vocational schools .
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the research “Distribution of employees according to the size of the salary calculated for September 2021”, the average gross monthly earnings of an employee in September 2021 was 8996,5 lei.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has completed the revision of the questionnaire for the annual structural survey, according to the latest European requirements on Structural Business Statistics (SBS). Peter Bøegh Nielsen, from the National Institute of Statistics of Denmark, has assisted the NBS in updating the questionnaire, which will be applied in the reporting year 2021.

„The energy balance of the Republic of Moldova” is a large statistical collection, which presents the statistical indicators on the formation of primary and general resources of energy, distribution and final energy consumption on the main activities of the national economy during the period 2015-2020.
The analytical report contains statistical information on the general characteristics of households with children according to the area of residence, number of children, type of household, quintiles, presence of migrants in households, their level of poverty and wellbeing.
