The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2021:

• the number of active enterprises constituted 38,3 thousand enterprises, or 4,2% more than in 2020;
• the largest share in the total number of active enterprises was registered by enterprises in the sector of wholesale and retail trade, constituting 42,4% of the total number of active enterprises;
• most enterprises were created in the size class "0 - 4 employees", with the share of 89,2% of the total new enterprises created;
• the largest share in the total number of active enterprises was recorded by enterprises from Chisinau – 63,1%.
