The purpose of the module "Influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the household" is to collect the statistical information to assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on households in the Republic of Moldova. Data collection will be carried out on the basis of an additional module on Household Budget Survey (HBS), on the sample of households in the second quarter of 2020.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in March 2020 the producer prices in industry increased with 0,2% compared to February 2020, with 2,4% compared to March 2019 and with 0,6% compared to December 2019.

In the same time the production of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning supply registered an decrease.
The number of 1486 of active early education institutions, including 829 - nursery schools, 543 kindergartens, 89 school-kindergartens, 23 community centers and 2 nurseries was registered in the country by the end of 2019 year. By destination, 3 types of institutions were distinguished: 1474 - with general destination, 5 - sanatorials and 7 - with special destinations.

The passenger's journey constituted 765,0 million passenger-kilometers, with 2,9% less than January-February 2019.

In accordance with Law no. 69 of May 21, 2020 regarding the establishment of measures during the state of emergency in public health, the deadline for submitting financial statements for 2019 is extended from May 29 to June 30, 2020.

Taking into account the state of emergency throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova, aiming at ensuring the security and health of NBS employees and respondents, as well as for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus, NBS informs that starting with the 16th of March the activities of the institution have been adjusted.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to preliminary data, in 2019, the gross domestic product totaled 210,1 billion lei, current market prices, increasing - in real terms - by 3,6% compared to 2018 semifinal. In quarter IV 2019, GDP totaled 54,9 billion lei, current market prices, increasing - in real terms - with 0,2% compared to quarter IV 2018 on gross series, and with 0,9% on the seasonally adjusted series.

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in 2019 tourism agencies and tour-operators provided tourism services to 376,6 thousand tourists and excursionists, with 16,4% more than in the 2018. The growth of the number of tourists and excursionists was caused by increase of outbound tourism, internal tourism and inbound tourism.
