National Bureau of Statistics communicates that in 2023:

• small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for about 99.2% of the total number of reporting enterprises (similar as in 2022);

• the average number of employees in SMEs constituted 352.1 thousand, owning 65.3% of the total average number of employees of enterprises (compared to 65.6% in 2022);

• sales revenues of MSEs amounted to 285.9 billion lei or 45% of total sales revenues in the economy (similar as in 2022).
