Accommodation of tourists in establishments of collective touristic reception with functions of accommodation in January-September 2024
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the period January-September 2024, compared to the same period of 2023, tourist reception structures with accommodation functions recorded increases in both the number of accommodated tourists and tourist overnight stays, by 23.6% and 9. 4%, respectively.
The registered accommodations in tourist reception structures in the period January-September 2024 amounted to 365.0 thousand visitors, of which 176.3 thousand (48.3%) were resident tourists and 188.7 thousand (51.7%) - non-resident tourists.
Increases in tourist accommodation were recorded in hotels and motels (+41.1%), tourist and agrotourist pensions (+19.5%), health-care structures (+4.2%) and holiday camps (+12.3%). At the same time, in hostels for visitors and recreation structures there was a decrease in the number of tourists accommodated by 19.6% and 1.7%, respectively.
Regarding the accommodation of foreign tourists in tourist reception facilities, the largest share was held by those from Europe (84.9% of the total number of non-resident tourists), and of these 35.8% came from the member states of the European Union.
More significant shares in the total number of foreign tourists accommodated in tourist reception facilities belonged to citizens of: Ukraine (38.8% of the total), Romania (19.6%), the United States of America (6.8%), Israel (3.3%). %), Turkey (2.7%), Germany (2.6%), the United Kingdom (2.2%), Italy (2.1%) and the Russian Federation (1.9%).
Tourist overnight stays recorded in collective tourist reception units in the period January-September 2024 were 1,222.4 thousand, up 9.4% or 105.2 thousand overnight stays more than in January-September 2023.
The increase in the number of overnight stays was recorded in all tourist structures: hotels and motels (+22.6%), hostels for visitors (+4.5%), tourist and agrotourist pensions (+12.1%), health-care structures (+3.8%), recreation structures (+2.4%) and holiday camps (+4.0%).
Of the total overnight stays, about 70.0% were overnight stays of resident tourists, while overnight stays of foreign tourists represented about 30.0%.
