City infrastructure and sanitation activities in urban localities in 2013

National Bureau of Statistics reports that of the total area of urban land, 7,4 thou. hectares or 9,1% are occupied by green spaces. During 2007-2012 the area of green spaces is more or less the same, but has decreased copmparing to 2005-2006 years. 54,3% of the surface of these areas are for general use (squares, gardens, parks etc.), the remaining being the spaces of touristic and entertainment zones (17,3%), limited access areas – 12,9% and areas with utility purposes (10,4%).
