Industrial activity of the Republic of Moldova in January 2009

National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January 2009 industrial enterprises of all types of ownership, produced goods to the amount of 1607,9 mio. lei, in current prices. The volume index of industrial production in comparison with January 2008 constituted 74,9% (comparable prices).

The decrease of the growth rate was determined by the decrease of the production of the eneterprises with the following activites: mining and quarrying (62,1%), manufacture of food products and beverages (20,0%), energetic sector (16,4%). This caused the decrease of the total volume of industrial production respectively with 0,6%, 20,2% and 4,3%.
