National Bureau of Statistics presents data on the activity of institutions of higher education in academic year 2009/2010.
National Bureau of Statistics announces that at the beginning of 2009/2010 school year, the network of primary and secondary education institutions covered 1512 schools, gymnasiums and lyceums, including 7 evening schools and 1505 day schools, of which: 91 primary schools, 708 gymnasiums, 492 lyceums, 179 general schools, 35 schools for mental or physically handicapped children.

The real salary in the same period of time increased with 9,7%. In the budgetary sector the average salary was 2344,6 Lei, and increased compared to January-September 2008 with 23,3%, in the real sector of economy - 2907,1 Lei and increased compared to the same period of the previous year with 5,9%.

The volume of charged services rendered to the population by officially registered enterprises in September 2009 made up 1104,2 million MDL that is 1,7% more in comparable prices than in previous month and with 9,3% more compared to September 2008.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that in January-September 2009 enterprises of railway, road, river and air transport, have transported 5468,1 thou. tonnes of goods, or 40,8% of the total volume realized in same period of the previous year. The turnover of goods in the mentioned period summed up 1879,1 mio tonne-km, or 49,0% the volume registered in January-September 2008.
National Bureau of Statistics announces that agricultural production, in all types of households, in January-September 2009 registered 89,8% against the respective period of the previous year. The decrease of global agricultural production was determined by the decrease of vegetal production - with 17,0%, while animal production registered an increase of 8,6% in comparison with January-September 2008.
