Over 40 statisticians strengthened their skills in advanced data analysis and processing using modern tools

Between 22-26 September this year, more than 40 statisticians from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) participated in the second stage of the training course on the use of "R" - a programming language and modern tool for data analysis and processing, widely used in official statistics.

The course was conducted online and delivered by Ana Maria Ciuhu, expert at the National Institute of Statistics of Romania.

Over the five days course, participants deepened their knowledge and acquired advanced skills in the use of the "R" language, a tool that makes a significant contribution to the modernization of statistics by providing a flexible, efficient and reproducible framework for data analysis, processing and visualization, thus supporting alignment with international standards and evidence-based decision-making.

By conducting this training course, the National Bureau of Statistics reaffirms its commitment to the continuous professional development of its staff and the constant alignment with international standards in the field of official statistics, through the use of modern tools of data analysis, processing and dissemination.

It is worth to mention that the first stage of the training in the "R" program took place between 17-21 March, also delivered by Ana Maria Ciuhu.

The training was carried out with technical assistance provided by UNFPA Moldova, the India-UN Development Partnership Fund, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and the Embassy of India in Romania and Moldova.
