The National Bureau of Statistics informs at the beginning of 2025/26 study year in primary and secondary general education: were active 1173 institutions of primary and general secondary education, of which 83 primary schools, 746 gymnasiums, 336 lyceums, 6 schools for children with mental or physical handicap and 2 evening schools.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that in 2023: the number of active enterprises constituted 41,8 thousand enterprises, or 0,7% more than in 2022; the largest share in the total number of active enterprises was registered by enterprises in the sector of wholesale and retail trade, constituting 39,0% of the total number of active enterprises.
The National Bureau of Statistics reports that in the years 2022-2024: the share of enterprises that declared innovative activities in total enterprises was 10,6%, compared to 11,4% in 2021-2022;the largest share in total innovative enterprises was recorded by industrial enterprises, accounting for 52,8% of the total number of innovative enterprises; the share of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) engaged in innovation activities was 89,9% of the total number of innovative enterprises.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the 2025/26 study year: the network of higher education institutions consists of 16 units; at the beginning of the study year, 62.9 thousand persons were enrolled in higher education institutions, of which 46.7 thousand in the first cycle – Licence’s degree, 10.6 thousand in the second cycle – Master’s degree and 5.6 thousand for integrated higher education.
National Bureau of Statistics informs, that: in October 2025 compared to October 2024, industrial production increased by 11,6%; in January-October 2025 (cumulative from the beginning of the current year), compared to the same period of the previous year, it increased by 3,9%.

Industrial production price indices
National Bureau of Statistics informs that in November 2025 producer prices in industry: increased with 0,1% compared to October this year; increased with 6,3% since the beginning of the current year; increased with 6,4% compared to November 2024.
The Statistical yearbook „Chisinau in figures” is the most complete publication, which comprises statistical data regarding the demographic, social and economic situation of the municipality. The yearbook is structured in 15 chapters, containing information from various fields: general data, population, labour force, population incomes and expenditures, education, culture and sport, health protection and social protection, dwellings and public utilities, environment, justice.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that the preliminary estimations of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP): in the third quarter of 2025 increased in real terms by 5.2% compared to the third quarter of 2024; for January–September 2025 grew in real terms by 2.0% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
Exports of goods in October 2025 were amounted to 409,2 million USD, with 18,5% more than in September 2025 and with 23,7% more compared to October 2024.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that for employees who worked the entire month of September and the full day, in real sector units with 4 or more employees and in all budgetary institutions: the average gross monthly salary in September amounted to 14692,7 lei; approximately 4 out of 5 employees (79.6%) had salaries higher than 7,000 lei, and every fifth employee (20.4%) had a salary of up to 7,000 lei.

National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in the real sector units with 4 or more employees and all budgetary institutions, at the end of the third quarter of 2025 approximately 33,8 thousand job vacancies were registered, the job vacancy rate (the ratio between the number of job vacancies and the total number of jobs) was 4,9%.
The statistical publication “Children in Moldova” is the 3rd edition developed by the National Bureau of Statistics and summarizes the main indicators characterizing the child’s situation in the Republic of Moldova during 2019-2024. The publication is structured into 9 chapters which contains data on the following aspects: demography, children’s health and education, juvenile justice, social protection, situation of families with children as well territorial and international data.
National Bureau of Statistics informs that, according to the results of the survey ,,Labour Force Survey” (LFS), in the III quarter 2025 compared to the second quarter of the current year: the labour force (active population aged 15 years and over) was 887,1 thousand persons, increasing by 7.6%, the employed population aged 15 and over was 856.0 thousand persons, increasing by 8.1%, the unemployment rate for the country as a whole amounted to 3.5%, decreasing by 0.5 percentage points (4.0% in the second quarter of 2025).

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-September 2025, investments in fixed assets worth 24.9 billion lei were made, up 17.0% (in comparable prices) compared to January-September 2024, of which: investments in tangible assets worth 23.8 billion lei (up 15.5%), investments in intangible assets worth 1.2 billion lei (up 1.5 times).

Final Results of the Population and Housing Census 2024
The National Bureau of Statistics presents the final results of the 2024 Population and Housing Census (PHC) regarding the economic characteristics of the usually resident population.
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that insurance companies in January-September 2025 received accrued gross premiums in the amount of 2443,9 mln. lei, increasing by 0,9% compared to the same period of the previous year, paid out insurance indemnities and compensations in the amount of 1046,8 mln. lei, or 16,1% more than in January-September of 2024.
The National Bureau of Statistics reports that in January-September 2025, public transport companies transported 245.5 million passengers, 6.9% more than in the same period last year. This evolution was due to the increase in the number of passengers transported by air (+39.4%), trolleybus (+8.3%) and road transport (+4.2%).
The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the volume of construction works in the third quarter of 2025 increased compared to the third quarter of 2024 by 40.2% (in comparable prices), in January-September 2025 increased compared to the corresponding period of 2024 by 37.3% (in comparable prices).
