The dwelling stock of the Republic of Moldova on January 1, 2021

The National Bureau of Statistics informs that on January 1, 2021 the dwelling stock of the Republic of Moldova constituted 1309,8 thousand dwellings with the total area of  89187,7 thousand m².  

The distribution by residential areas of the housing fund reveals a share of 57,2% of the dwellings registered in the rural area, which represents 749,7 thousand dwellings with a total area of 49266,4 thousand m². At the same time, in the urban area were registered 560,2 thousand dwellings with a total area of 39921,3 thousand m², which constitutes 42,8% of the total registered housing stock.
