National Bureau of Statistics informs that, in January-March 2023 the tourism agencies and tour-operators provided tourism services to 44,5 thousand tourists and excursionists, or 18,6% more than in January-March 2022.

The increased of the number of tourists and excursionists was caused by the increase in the number of participants in the number of participants in outbound tourism (travel of residents of the Republic of Moldova abroad) by 12,1 thousand persons (+74,2%) and inbound tourism (reception of foreign citizens in the country) - by 1,9 thousand persons (+58,2%). At the same time, domestic tourism (travel of residents of the Republic of Moldova within the country for tourism purposes) recorded a decrease of 38,9% or 7,0 thousand persons less compared to January-March 2022.
