The National Bureau of Statistics informs at the beginning of 2025/26 study year in primary and secondary general education:

• were active 1173 institutions of primary and general secondary education, of which 83 primary schools, 746 gymnasiums, 336 lyceums, 6 schools for children with mental or physical handicap and 2 evening schools;

• the number of pupils in primary and general secondary education institutions was 334.6 thousand persons, of which 333.5 thousand persons study in day schools and 1.1 thousand persons in evening schools;

• the number graduates of gymnasiums were 31,2 thousand persons, and graduates of lyceums was 12,1 thousand persons, of which 11,2 thousand persons obtained a baccalaureate diploma;

• the number of management and pedagogical staff amounted to 25,8 thousand persons.
