National Bureau of Statistics informs that in the first quarter of 2024:

• the average gross monthly earnings in the real sector units with 4 or more employees and all budgetary institutions amounted to 13170,3 lei, increasing with 14,7% compared to the first quarter of 2023 and decreasing with 1,7% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023;
• the index of real earnings (calculated as the ratio of the index of gross nominal earnings and the consumer price index), compared to the first quarter of 2023, was 110,0%, which means that earnings increased in real terms by 10,0%;
• the average number of employees, compared to the first quarter of 2023, decreased by 0,1%.
